Project Description

Rotary Club of Sainbu Bhainsepati has provided essential Early Childhood Development (ECD) support to Shree Nepal Rastriya Basic School in Jhabarah, Parsagadhi Municipality–3, through a special educational enhancement initiative. With a total project budget of NPR 1,01,000, the club supplied 41 floor mats, 41 pairs of warm clothes, 24 meters of carpet, 2 rugs, 41 pairs of shoes and socks, 41 school bags, and 41 handkerchiefs. This contribution directly supports 391 students (Female: 210, Male: 181) and indirectly benefits an estimated 5,000 community members and families. The handover ceremony took place under the chairmanship of Principal Rajendra Chaudhary and the chief guest, Mayor Gokarna Pathak. The event was attended by Rotary Club of Sainbu President Karanbir Thapa, Rotary Club of Birgunj Secretary Dindayal Kedia, and other dignitaries, while teacher Mahadev Chapagain facilitated the program.
The materials were provided with the objective of improving the school’s learning environment, strengthening access to education, and supporting children from poor, Dalit, and economically marginalized families. The impact of the initiative is already visible: ECD children have received warm clothes, shoes, and carpets, helping them stay healthy during the extremely cold winters of the Terai. The shoes, socks, and warm clothing protect children from seasonal illnesses, while the carpets and 20/20 curtains have made previously cold classrooms significantly more comfortable. Children who used to sit on cold floors can now sit—and even rest—warmly on the carpets. The distribution of school bags has also helped protect their educational materials. Overall, the support has created a safer, more child-friendly environment that enhances attendance, comfort, and early-grade learning outcomes.
